Leadership Forum

Workforce recruitment, training and retention are the most significant issues facing the hospitality industry. In this, our inaugural Leadership Forum, panelists and our audience of industry leaders will discuss current and future practices to attract and retain employees; how to build a healthy and robust culture of hospitality and ways to meet evolving worker expectations. Join us for this opportunity to hear from thoughtful leaders and to consider short- and long-term strategies to build and retain your strongest workforce, while strengthening the hospitality industry workforce pipeline.

Chuck Paton, President of Odyssey Resorts and an HM board member will moderate a panel, which includes:

Dr. Eric Guthrie: Eric Guthrie is a Senior Demographer in the Minnesota State Demographic Center and uses demographic knowledge and techniques to help other understand the world in which we live and work. He has developed a particular expertise in rural demographics.
Deb Broberg: Deb Broberg is the Executive Director of RealTime Talent, an employer-led public-private collaborative which elevates employers' collective workforce needs by providing customized research, current labor market insights, Talent Pipeline Management^_®strategies and consultation services.
David Benowitz: David is the President of Craft & Crew Hospitality, convener of the Twin Cities Restaurant Owners and a member of the Hospitality Minnesota Board of Directors, and is committed to building a great culture for his team and the guests at the six Craft & Crew restaurants.
Liz Rammer: Liz joined Hospitality Minnesota in 2018 as President & CEO, and is dedicated to the growth and success of Minnesota's hospitality industry by leveraging the capacities of the Assocation and its partner Education Foundation to address key challenges like workforce.

Annual Meeting

A brief annual meeting will follow the Forum, where you'll have a chance to hear about the state of the association and vote on the slate of director and officer candidates to serve on the Hospitality Minnesota Board of Directors beginning in January 2023.
